On Day 3 of the Malaysian International Furniture Fair (MIFF) 2024, the General Manager of CTCS, Puan Hamidah Abdullah, attended the awards ceremony for the MIFF 2024 Best Presentation Award, MIFF 2024 Furniture Excellence Award, and the MIFF Furniture Design Competition (FDC) 2024.
Puan Hamidah Abdullah was one of the appointed judges for the MIFF Furniture Design Competition 2024. This annual competition aims to recognise outstanding furniture design while fostering creativity and innovation among emerging talents, in support of Malaysia’s growing furniture industry.
This year’s MIFF FDC 2024 received a total of 203 submissions from 30 public and private higher education institutions, along with 19 entries from private companies and professional designers.
Themed “Chair-Volution” in celebration of MIFF’s 30th anniversary, the award ceremony was officiated by Mr. Ian Robert, Vice President of Informa Markets Asia; MIFF Founder and Chairman, YBhg. Datuk Dr. Tan Chin Huat; MIFF FDC Chief Judge, Dr. Eric Leong; and attended by the Director General of MTIB, YBrs. Ts. Dr. Mohd Nor Zamri Mat Amin, as well as Dr. Wan Tarmeze Wan Ariffin, Director of the Forest Products Division at FRIM.
