The inaugaral Malaysia Furniture Furnishings Market (MFFM) 2024 has officially opened today. In conjunction with the opening ceremony of MFFM 2024, CTCS also held an awards presentation for the school furniture design competition, EduSculpt, in collaboration with the College of Build Environment, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Puncak Alam. The competition featured 25 students and 11 designs were selected as finalists. The competition was divided into two categories, student furniture and teacher furniture. Three winners were chosen for each category, and one winner received a special mention award. The judges included Dr. Eric Leong as the chief judge, MTIB representative En. Almizi Bin Ibrahim, Puan Nik Zuraihah Nik Mohammad, industry representative Tuan Haji Farosham Naizamohideen, and Mr. Walter Tan.
The opening ceremony was officiated by the Chairman of the Malaysian Timber Industrial Board (MTIB), YB Datuk Larry Sng Wei Shein, accompanied by Cik Karen Goi, Project Director of Derrisen Sdn Bhd; YBhg. Dato’ Dr. Tan Yew Chong, Advisor to the Ministry of Plantation and Commodities; YBrs. Mr. Saiful Bahri Salleh, Director General of MTIB; YBrs. Mdm. Noraihan Abdul Rahman, Chief Executive Officer of MTC; Mdm. Hamidah Abdullah, General Manager of CTCS; and YBhg. Dato’ Sri Dr. Haji Irmohizam Ibrahim, Group Managing Director of WTCKL.
The VVIPs were invited to visit the exhibition and the first booth is CTCS.
This year, CTCS booth was curated by renowned interior designer Dr Eric Leong with a resort theme that features home furniture such as living room, dining room, bedroom, and kitchen furniture, as well as classroom furniture manufactured by CTCS vendors.
CTCS hopes that its participation in MFFM 2024 will enhance the promotion of Bumiputera products and contribute significantly to the growth of the national timber industry.
