CTCS Worldwide Sdn Bhd organized the Timber Trust program: Verifying Quality, Promoting Responsibility. Mdm. Hamidah Abdullah, General Manager of CTCS, explained that the program aims to promote Timber Verification Services (TVS), foster partnerships with timber industry players, developers, and stakeholders, and offer TVS services to architects, engineers, construction developers, contractors, building owners, and end users.
CTCS was honoured to have Dato’ Ar. Azman Md Hashim, President Board of Architects Malaysia, to deliver a speech during the program’s opening. Dato’ Ar Azman who is personally a wood enthusiast praised the program as a great initiative to encourage the use of wood particularly within the built environment.
Several sharing sessions were held, with panelists including Dr. Roszaini Kadir from FRIM, Ar. Azman Zainal as the architect and owner of Anjung Kelana, and Mdm. Hasshviny A/P Subramaniam, Assistant Director of the Industry Support & Verification Services Unit of MTIB.
On 9th and 10th May 2024, CTCS together with MTIB, conducted the TVS process for Anjung Kelana and Anjung Puteri. To signify the verification of Anjung Kelana, CTCS presented a TVS plaque to Ar. Azman Zainal.
The program was followed by a visit to Anjung Puteri to witness the construction of another beautiful timber house which was also designed by Ar. Azman Zainal.
The program was attended by the Director of Industrial Development Division MTIB, Ts. Farydatul Nazly, Director of Trade Development MTIB, Ms. Noorazimah Sarkom, CTCS Board Members, Hj Farosham Naizamohideen, and MTIB Board Member, Mr. Mohd Aziz Mahadi.
